Advanced Air Mobility Legislative Report

The Utah Division of Aeronautics is planning for the implementation and growth of drone package delivery, aerial taxis, and electric aircraft in Utah. In coordination with, and at the request of, the Utah Legislature our Division organized the Utah Advanced Air Mobility Working Group. This report is the culmination of the working group’s findings and input as well as a study conducted of the infrastructure assets now in place and the those anticipated as necessary to make advanced air mobility a reality in Utah.


Advanced Air Mobility & Unmanned Aircraft Systems

The Division of Aeronautics’ Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Program is developed to educate and integrate new unmanned aircraft technologies into the National Airspace System. 
Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) are a versatile tool that is expanding in capabilities rapidly within the transportation industry.  UAS provides a wide variety of operational, societal, and economic benefits.  Within the Department, the use of UAS has provided significant cost efficiencies, improved data quality, and enhanced personnel safety over traditional methods and existing processes.
