Next Steps

With the environmental findings complete, UDOT will now proceed to develop final design plans to construct an additional lane in each direction on I-15 between Exits 6 and 8. The design will include wider structures and some operational improvements. The first phase of construction is expected between 2024 and 2026.

UDOT is not expected to build the study's recommended single-point-urban-interchange (SPUI) at 700 South until a later phase due to fiscal constraints. Information regarding the planning of projects in the St. George Metropolitan Area in future phases can be best monitored by referencing the Dixie Metropolitan Planning Organization's Regional Transportation Plan

EA Timeline

This EA began in April 2022 and evaluated environmental and community impacts and identified improvements to address current and future mobility needs.

As part of the environmental process, there was a total of three comment periods where the public was encouraged to provide feedback - during the Scoping Phase, during the Alternatives Development Phase, and in coordination with the Public Hearings when the EA was released.
