OVERVIEW
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), in coordination with the Mountainland Association of Governments (MAG), Utah County, and Wasatch County, will connect the two Provo River Trail segments in the area between Vivian Park and Deer Creek Reservoir. The new multi-use trail segment will provide better access to existing trail networks and increase recreational opportunities. Construction is expected to take place between fall 2021 and summer 2022.
IMPROVEMENTS
The new multi-use asphalt trail segment will be 10 feet wide and 3.5 miles long. To make room for the new trail segment, additional improvements will be made in the Vivian Park area.
UDOT will:
- Construct the new trail
- Realign the existing railroad tracks
Utah County will:
- Relocate the existing playground
- Reconfigure the park facilities (parking lot and green space)
Heber Valley Railroad will:
- Construct a new railroad loading/unloading platform.
